Trained in maritime history, I work closely with the Maritime History Archive in St. John’s, Newfoundland—a repository of British labour contracts and documents on the region’s fishery.
My experience includes:
detailed knowledge of the resources available in St. John’s, NL, especially for shipping and fishery records held at the MHA and the Provincial Archives (the Rooms).
research experience in military, merchant shipping, and fisheries papers in the United Kingdom and Canada.
the ability to provide transcribed copies of papers if required.
experience writing and editing.

If you have project in Eastern Newfoundland that requires historical research, I would be happy to discuss what is available in the city, establish a research plan, and discuss my rates.
I am available for family history and genealogical research inquiries. I can also perform detailed academic archival work if travel to Newfoundland is restrictive for your budget.
If you are looking for a merchant ship or a person working on board a merchant ship between 1750-1975, I will consult with you on your next steps, even if those papers are not in Newfoundland.
